BIOL 445/645 Cell Physiology
Cell physiology provides an understanding of the basic processes of eukaryotic cells and their relationship to cellular ultrastructure.
Credits: 3 credits
Prerequisites: Junior Standing and a grade of C or better in each of the following: BIOL 190A/L, BIOL 191A/L, CHEM 121A/L, CHEM 122A/L, ENG 102 or ENG 114 or HON 100, and MATH 127 or 128 or 181.
BIOL 460/660 Microbial Physiology
Exploration of the major aspects of microbial physiology, including structure and growth of bacteria, generation of ATP and intermediary metabolism, synthesis of macromolecules and cellular components, and coordination of intracellular activities
Credits: 3 credits
Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in each of the following: BIOL 351, CHEM 241, CHEM 241L or CHEM 347, and CHEM 474.

BIOL 796-1004 Graduate Seminar: Topics in Microbiology
Critically assessing current primary literature, this journal club will cover various topics in microbiology. Papers will be selected by the students based on their interests.
Credits: 1-2 credits; may be repeated for a max of 10 credits
Prerequisites: Graduate standing in the School of Life Sciences.
BIOL 492 (Undergraduate Research)
This course can be taken with Dr. Tseng, but only with consent. Students will work on a project in biofilm biology that relates to Dr. Tseng’s research.
Credits: 1-3 credits; may be repeated for a max of 8 credits
Prerequisites: Consent of the instructor and either 2 years of biological sciences or a grade of C or better in each of the following: BIOL 190A/L, BIOL 19aA/L, CHEM 121A/L, CHEM 122A/L, ENG 102 or ENG 114 or HON 100, and MATH 127 or MATH 128 or MATH 181.
